Teeth whitening is the end all be all of cosmetic dentistry nowadays.

I mean who doesn’t want a bright stunning smile that knocks the pants off passerby’s when they grin.

We know we sure do!

And that’s one of the reasons why we created the Brushee.

But ….we’ll get into that in a little.

Todays article is to discuss the main reasons why we get discoloration of our teeth, and two immediate options we have to brighten our smile.

Extrinsic and Intrinsic Tooth Stains

Extrinsic stains are typically the result of the food and beverages, and daily habits we inhibit on the regular. For example, coffee, ketchup, red wine, plaque build up, smoking and nicotine all play a major role in extrinsic tooth stains. Basically it’s the term often referred to as “surface stains”.

Whereas intrinsic, are the stains that develop when our tooth enamel weakens and the inner workings of the tooth (dentin) start to reveal its true natural state, which is yellow in nature. This is typically caused by over exposure to fluoride in youth, or rare occurrences such as antibiotics, trauma or disease.

Lucky for you, both extrinsic and intrinsic stains can be resolved by the following.

  1. Do It Yourself Whitening- O man, there a so many options for you here. Just walk into your local supermarket fine the aisle with oral care products, and pick your favorite- toothpaste, mouthwash, whitening strips, whitening pens and gel trays. I mean these options are favorite among many individuals because they are, easy, less invasive, and can pack a punch if done properly.
  2. Professional Whitening With A Dentist- Although somewhat pricey, this option is almost guaranteed to give you top dollar results. Some procedures require multiple trips, whereas some require only one. As always we recommend talking with your dentist to discuss which is best for you.
  3. Use A Brushee After Meals- Intrinsic stains easily build up on our teeth during the day, while we’re eating and drinking on-the-go, and unable to maintain clean teeth. And carrying a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss around, is just a pain. And that’s why we created the BRUSHEE!

Our specially engineered paste in the bristles releases to aide in removing surface stains BEFORE they even set in! And in less than sixty seconds, the job is done, and you have clean teeth and a bright smile in a jiffy!

So whatever your choice may be, consider your options and make sure your informed!
